[Comic to Counter]

15 Jan

Here’s a fact I bet you weren’t expecting: I love comic books, DC in particular. My dad collected them as a child and we have a draw full of them at home, perfect condition. If Blake Lively (who I love) and my comics were in a burning building, I would go for the comics first (paper burns fast you know). Obsessed some might say. I’ve seen every comic related film out there, including of course the Marvel ones. Indeed I’m writing this while wearing my Wonder Woman pyjamas.

To put it frankly I couldn’t be much happier about this new MAC Wonder Woman collection. According to Temptalia.com this 32 piece collection will be hitting the UK in March 2011 – starting at Selfridges. I saw a sneaky peak in Vogue’s Catwalk Report and I’ve been lusting every since.

The red lipstick in particular is my must-have. I’m very into the Parisian Chic flick of eye liner and the bright red lips (as seen on the Miu Miu SS11 Catwalk) at the moment and this Wonder Woman lipstick will be perfect! The packaging looks amazing, like toy makeup I always wanted to play with as a child.

[Selfridges Gone Mad]

18 Dec

Selfridges department store on Oxford Street is renowned for having nutty thought-provoking windows, infact they pride themselves on it. I had heard alot about the Christmas windows, from the bobble head outrage to the eye popping anti-Christmas colours. But it wasn’t until I actually saw these images (taken from a blog I forgot to write down!) that I realised quite how utterly bonkers the windows are. Check out the boggle eyes!

Cool. But Nuts.

[Wooly Row]

11 Oct

Today the world famous Savile Row turned into a lush meadow to help raise awareness of British Wool.

To celebrate British Wool Week, Campaign for Wool, kicked off yesterday withSelfridges sending two flocks of yellow sheep down Oxford Street.

If you know me, or this blog, you will know I’m a knitwear fanatic – the chunkier the better. Wool is on the up with womenswear going big and menswear opting for wool tailoring (think Sherlock Holmes and Dr.Who), soSavile Row was the perfect place to make a stand for wool awareness.

More than 80 highstreet retailers are backing this weeks Wool awareness, with Jigsaw holding knitting classes in it’s store.
